What we do
Gill Schmid Design assists artists and designers with the production of sculptures, public art projects, objects, and installations, as well as supporting clients with the sourcing and purchasing of artwork.
Materialization: The scope of our work ranges from design and form-finding to production and fabrication, project management, architectural construction, and exhibition design, to everything in between.
An expertise in digital fabrication, as well as a vast knowledge and experience with more traditional means of production, makes what we offer to our clients unique.
With more than 20 years experience and innovation in the field of 3d printing (in 2008 producing the largest ever 3d printed sculptures at 3 x 3 x 3 meters), 3D Modeling & Sculpting, Form Finding and all forms of digital production, as well as maintaining a vast and reliable network of artisans, fabricators, and engineers, we offer an unequaled ability for our clients to make their ideas a reality.
The studio has been working closely with internationally renowned artists since 2001, facilitating the production and fabrication of high-end art pieces and sculptures. We work closely with each artist to understand their unique artistic style and sensibility.
Veronika in particular has been closely working with Frank Stella for more than 20 years on all of his sculptural works.
Design/ Form-finding
Design sketches and modelling in 2D, 3D, parametric and production of physical models/ maquettes, construction drawings, representation images, renderings, and virtual reality.
Production/ Fabrication
Investigation of various forms of production, pricing inquiries with fabricators, outsourcing, fabrication drawings and coordination of construction process with various parties.

Project Management
Coordination between artist/ architects/ designer/ engineers and fabricators, along with project management of all construction/ installation phases.
Exhibition Design
Exhibition design, design of displays and installations at private or public locations, including developing installation details, drawing sets and communication with all involved parties.
Curation: Not limited just to production, we also offer our clients the sourcing and purchasing of artwork from private residences, to hospitality projects, to super yachts.
Our constant interaction with the art world and our avid knowledge of the making of art pieces means we can find the most appropriate art for our clients, site specific and tailored to each brief. Direct access to a number of artists further enables sourcing and purchasing for our clients.
Curation
Curation and art concept development, art advisory, sourcing and procurement for our clients. We have the reach, the vision and fundamental understanding of how art enriches the space and life of our clients.
